Drop Off Center Hours of Operation
The current Drop Off Center hours are:
- Wednesdays, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm
- Saturdays, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm
The Drop Off Center will be closed on December 25, 2024 and January 1, 2025.
Location
The Drop Off Center is located at 11100 W. Walnut Road. Enter on 113th Street off of Watertown Plank Road. Do not use the entrance from Mayfair Road.
Drop Off Items
The following items are accepted at the Drop Off Center for a fee:
- Recyclable items:
- Plastics #1, #2 and #5
- Aluminum containers
- Glass jars
- Paper products
- Cardboard
- Residential garbage, including bulky furniture, mattresses, box springs, and carpeting
- Residential clean fill in small amounts (less than a cubic yard), bricks, dirt, sod, concrete, sand, and stone
- Residential construction debris and untreated lumber scraps
- Residential yard waste including brush, branches, leaves, and logs
- Appliances, laptops, desktop computers and monitors
- Televisions
- Automobile tires
Drop Off Center Fees
Fees for refuse and construction are based on a sliding scale based on the quantity of items you bring in. The lowest fee will be $10 and the highest fee will be $90. We have given examples of quantities you can generally fit within certain vehicles. While this is not exact or all inclusive, it gives you a good idea of what you will likely be charged.
Fees for recycling, large appliances, yard waste, TVs, and tires remain the same.
- Recycling and Scrap Metal: $5 per load
- Yard Waste: $5 per load
- Large Appliances: $30 each
- Tires: $5 - 10 each
- TVs: $30 - $45 each
Annual Yard Waste Only Permit: $20
If you purchase this permit, it is good for one calendar year, and allows you to dispose of:
- Brush, branches and logs
- Leaves
- Soft plant material
You cannot use this permit to dispose of:
- Garbage
- Recycling
How to Purchase a Permit
Permits can be purchased at the Department of Public Works Attendant Station (Entrance to Drop Off Center).

Rules & Regulations
- Materials brought into the Drop Off Center have designated receptacles. Please do not mix materials.
- This permit is for household use only, not commercial. Commercial or contractor vehicles are not permitted.
- This permit is only valid for the resident whose driver's license matches the address on the permit
- Material dependent fees as described above also apply
- One annual yard waste permit covers one household
- A valid Wisconsin drivers license with a current Wauwatosa address is required to enter the Drop Off Center or purchase any permit
- No refunds will be given for unused permits
- We are not responsible for lost permits
