Afternoon Program on July 4 at Library/City Hall parking lot (7725 W North Avenue)

The July 4 afternoon event (1-3pm), which is usually at Hart Park, will be taking place at the City Hall parking lot for this year only due to construction at Hart Pak. If it rains, the event will be inside City Hall.

Bring one non-perishable food item to register decorated patriotic bikes, trikes, wagons, scooters, etc. for a prize. Your donation will benefit the Tosa Cares Food pantry. We'll also provide free ice cream.

August 7, 2024 Fireworks at Hart Park

Wauwatosa is moving its annual fireworks program to align with Tosa Night Out on August 7, 2024. This is only for 2024. The event will be held in Hart Park.

More details, including road closures coming closer to the event.

Why is Wauwatosa holding fireworks on a different day?

Wauwatosa hosts one of the largest parades in the State of Wisconsin. Additionally, our volunteer Civic Celebration Commission organizes activities that last until the late evening on July 4. It takes a large team of volunteer Police Reserves, sworn police officers, and other staff throughout the city to make these events possible.

Police Chief MacGillis explains, "This was a tough recommendation to make, but we had to put the interest of public safety first." Moving the fireworks to Aug. 7 was his recommendation after realizing July is packed with huge events that require large police presence. Learn more about joining the volunteer Police Reserves.
