Overview of permit

Sprinkler system permits are required for all water based and clean agent fire suppression systems. This includes new installation and the revision or modification to an existing sprinkler system with components of sprinklers heads, standpipes, fire pumps, etc. Fees are based on the number of sprinkler heads involved in the project.

How to Apply 

You can apply for a permit online using this self-service portal.

Submit the following for sprinkler system work involving 20 or fewer heads:

• Scope of work letter or description
• Minimum two sets of plans
• Cut sheets

Submit the following for sprinkler system work involving greater than 20 heads:

• Minimum two sets of state approved plans
• Cut Sheets
