Battalion 5 (Battalion Chief Command Car)

The function of Battalion 5 is to serve as the Battalion Chief on duty and respond to major incidents in and out of the city. This vehicle is a command center on wheels when significant incidents occur. It is a 2023 Chevy Tahoe with extensive radio communications equipment capabilities, a computer for mapping and messaging, rescue task force equipment, meters for hazardous situations and a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) for fire scenes.  

Battalion 56 (Back – Up Battalion Chief Command Car)

The function of Battalion 56 is to serve as a command center on wheels when significant incidents occur or frontline Battalion 5 is out of service. It is a 2017 Chevy Tahoe with extensive radio communications capabilities, a computer for mapping and messaging, and a command center that slides out of the rear hatch. When used as a command center the incident commander has the option to sit inside or to stand at the rear of the vehicle without losing any capabilities.

Truck 51

Truck 51 was built in 2024 by Pierce Manufacturing Company. It has a 107’ aerial ladder and full complement of grounds ladders (35’, 30’, 28’, 2-20’, 2-16’, 1-14’ Fresno, 2-7’ Gable ladders, 1- combi ladder). The truck also is equipment will advanced lifesaving equipment to the paramedic level. Rapid Intervention Equipment, Rescue Task Force equipment, Vehicle extrication equipment, low angle rope rescue equipment, explosive monitoring meters, ventilation saws, and complete complement of firefighting gear.

Med 51

Med 51 was built in 2023 by Horton Emergency Vehicles. The chassis is a medium duty International CV 4x2 with liquid spring to assist in a smooth ride for the patients during transport to the hospital. This Paramedic ambulance is equipped to treat and transport patients to the hospital. In addition, to extensive lifesaving medical equipment this ambulance also is equipped with firefighting equipment.

UTV 56

The UTV is a 2023 Polaris Ranger equipped with four-wheel drive, winch, cot, and medical equipment. The unit is available and appropriate for a wide variety of emergent and non-emergency uses, which may include, but are not limited to:

• Off-road access and transportation of medical patients.

• Transporting fire personnel and equipment to areas inaccessible by other fire apparatus

• Supporting special events in the community

Truck 56

Truck 56 was built in 2014 by the Pierce Manufacturing Company. It comes equipped with a 1250 GPM pump, 500 gallon water tank and foam attack capability. The aerial ladder is 105 feet long. It carries 300 feet of large diameter hose (for hydrant supply), 2 1/2 inch hose (for attacking large fires), and two pre-connected 1 3/4 inch hose lines for quick attacks at smaller fires. Truck 51 also contains an assortment of axes, tools, and fans. A complete set of vehicle stabilization equipment is also carried.
