Open House - Transportation Utility

What is a transportation utility?

Each year, the City of Wauwatosa faces a deficiency in funding for roadway, bicycle, public transit, and pedestrian improvements. We are exploring a transportation utility in order to fund these improvements and decrease our reliance on borrowing for them.  

A transportation utility is an equitable way for the City of Wauwatosa to secure the needed funds through a fee-based method. Just as we charge fees based on the amount of water you use, the transportation utility is based on user consumption.

Upcoming Open Houses

We invite you to attend an open house to learn more about the transportation utility and to give feedback about what kind of credit policy the city could explore.

  • Tuesday, May 9, 5-6:30 pm in the Lower Civic Center at City Hall
