Memorial Day Celebration - Civic Celebration Committee

The City of Wauwatosa Civic Celebration Committee, in coordination with the City of Wauwatosa, announced plans for this year’s Memorial Day Ceremony.

The 2019 Wauwatosa Memorial Day Ceremony will begin at 9:00 am on Monday, May 27 and lasts approximately one hour. It will be held in the auditorium at Longfellow Middle School. Longfellow Middle School’s address is 7600 W North Ave, Wauwatosa, WI 53213 (NW corner of 76th and North).

It is with deep respect that Wauwatosa pays tribute to our country’s men and women who have fallen in the line of duty – citizens of this great nation who gave their lives to preserve the liberties upon which America was founded.

The Wauwatosa Community Band will perform during this year’s Memorial Ceremony.

The guest speaker for this year’s event is Spencer A. Hoyt.  Spencer Hoyt is a Wauwatosa native and resident. He is combat veteran of the Persian Gulf War and has served in three branches of the military: the US-Navy (Hospital Corpsman), US-Air Force (medic) and the US-Army Medical Service Corps, where he received his commission in 1998. Today, Hoyt is the president and founder of HCS-Medical, a national medical distributor that provides products and services to the Veterans Administration and the Dept. of Defense. A lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Hoyt considers it an honor to have served among heroes. As a result, he attends veteran-specific conferences across the nation on a regular basis, and is an enthusiastic veterans advocate.
