Wauwatosa First Author Festival

The Wauwatosa Public Library is pleased to present its first Wauwatosa Author Festival from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 6 in the Storytime Room at the Public Library, 7635 W. North Avenue. Join area authors as they share their experiences with the writing and publishing process. 

Authors include: 
9:00-9:30 a.m.: Jessie Garcia telling her personal tale of becoming an author and give tips on finding a publisher/agent vs. self-publishing.
9:30-10 a.m.: Constance Molloy presenting on the "messy situation of writing a memoir when all of the players in her story are still living."
10-10:30 a.m.: Tom Matthews discussing A Writer's Life: From teenage Wisconsin filmmaker to inside the Hollywood movie machine and back again.
10:30-11 a.m.: Tom Miller discussing The Ten Year Plan: Structure, Revision, and a Guide to Traditional Publishing for Your First Novel.
11-11:30 a.m.: Jon Etter reading from his forthcoming children's comedy/fantasy novel A Dreadful Fairy Book and discussing his writing process and the long road to publishing.
11:30 a.m.-12 p.m.: Jeff Newman tackling the collaborative process between author and illustrator.
12-12:30 p.m.: Stef Wade sharing her experience of finding an agent, the path from submitting a draft to publication and how best to adapt your ideas for publication
