The Wauwatosa Distinguished Citizen Award Council has postponed the celebration of Tom and Linda Ertel as the 2019 Distinguished Citizens until further notice. They are working to come up with an alternate date for the event and will share it through the City’s website and this eblast. Please stay safe and healthy.
The Wauwatosa Distinguished Citizen Award Council is pleased to announce that Tom and Linda Ertel are Wauwatosa’s 2019 Distinguished Citizens of the year. Founders and leaders of Tosa Cares since 2008, Tom and Linda oversee the food pantry that saw 1,300 family visits in 2019. Partnering with multiple entities, Tom and Linda helped to bring the Holiday Train to Wauwatosa. Tom has also volunteered with the Wauwatosa Board of Parks & Forestry Commissioners and Milwaukee Inner-City Congregations Allied for Hope (MICAH). Linda has volunteered with the Wauwatosa Community Block Grant Committee, the Wauwatosa Healthy Community CHIP Program Committee, the Milwaukee Choristers and the Wauwatosa Education Association.
You are invited to honor the Ertels at a celebration beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, at the Blue Mound Golf and Country Club. Reservations are $50 per person and may be made in person at the Wauwatosa City Administrator’s Office from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (checks only – no charge cards) or by mailing a check (with names of people attending) payable to Wauwatosa Distinguished Citizen Award Council, c/o WDCAC Treasurer, 317 N. 89th Street, Wauwatosa, WI 53226.
