Black History Celebration: Movie "42: The Jackie Robinson Story"

Tosa Together and the Wauwatosa Public Library are pleased to announce a wide variety of activities to celebrate Black History Month.

• From February 3 to 28 at the Library, you can see the display "Black and White Thinking: Defining a Neighborhood" in the atrium on the second floor. Artists from throughout Wauwatosa and the Milwaukee area made art pieces in response to the text of restrictive covenants that prohibited sale or occupancy of land in Wauwatosa by people other than Whites. The pieces reflect the artist's reactions to the segregation practices of the past and ask, "What defines a neighborhood now?" The exhibit is sponsored by Tosa Together and the Wisconsin Art Therapy Association.

• On February 5, the movie Hidden Figures will be shown in the Firefly Room from 3 to 5:30 p.m.

• On February 19, participate in Black History Month After School Trivia at 3 p.m. in the Storytime Room.

• On February 26, the movie 42: The Jackie Robinson Story will be shown in the Firefly Room from 3 to 5:30 p.m.
