Hidden Impact of Segregation

Reggie Jackson, award-winning journalist, race-relations expert for local, state and national media organizations and co-owner of Nurturing Diversity Partners, will address “The Hidden Impact of Segregation” on September 24 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Wauwatosa Avenue United Methodist Church, 1529 Wauwatosa Ave. This program is co-sponsored by Mary of Magdala, Apostle to the Apostles Catholic Community and Wauwatosa Avenue UMC. The public is invited to attend the program that will be held in the church’s main sanctuary. 

Jackson, a Concordia University Wisconsin graduate, will focus on helping attendees understand the unseen effects of exclusion and on identifying ways to break down the invisible walls separating area suburbs from Milwaukee’s inner city. A question and answer session follows the talk with audience members submitting questions via index cards. 

Free parking is available in the surface lot behind the church (1600 Underwood Ave.) and in multiple city lots in the nearby village. Enter the building through any one of three doors off of the parking lot or the church’s main entrance on Wauwatosa Avenue. An elevator in Fellowship Hall provides handicap access to the main sanctuary. A free-will offering will help defray related costs. Please note that video and tape recordings are prohibited.
