Mission: To lead the City in providing first-rate services and enhancing the community through partnerships with citizens in an ever changing environment.

Welcome to the Office of the City Administrator for the City of Wauwatosa. Wauwatosa, located next to Mayfair Mall, Froedert Medical Center, GE Healthcare, and the Medical College of Wisconsin, is home to diverse neighborhoods, thriving business districts and a high quality of life. With a strong intellectual community and a culture of hard work, the City is a gathering place for people in all walks of life.

Wauwatosa is the 14th largest city in Wisconsin, with a corporate boundary of 13.2 square miles, serving a population of 44,000 residents. The City of Wauwatosa is a business-friendly organization with a balanced budget, a healthy financial reserve, a "AAA" General Obligation Bond rating, and an affordable cost of living. The City of Wauwatosa is committed to serving its citizens with integrity while focusing on results.

City Administrator James Archambo supports the Council priorities of Economic Health and Civic Engagement. The position of City Administrator was created in October of 1971. A primary duty of the City Administrator is to assure that City services are performed in accordance with Council policies and within the capability of the City's resources. The City Administrator also keeps the Council informed about the financial condition and future prospects of the City.

The City Administrator serves and advises both the Mayor and City Council, recommends most department directors and prepares an annual executive budget for council consideration. The City Administrator also enforces municipal laws and ordinances and coordinates City operations and programs. He/she does not recommend the police or fire chief, who are appointed instead by the
Police and Fire Commission.

Thank you for your interest in the City of Wauwatosa. Your input is invaluable as we continue to work together as a team to cultivate a proactive, responsive and effective city government.
