Youth Prevention & Community Programs
Wisconsin Wins Program
The Wauwatosa Health Department receives grant funding to conduct the Wisconsin Wins Program in Wauwatosa. The goal of the Wisconsin Wins Program is to reduce illegal sales of tobacco to young people. The program consists of a series of tobacco sales compliance investigations, education to all Wauwatosa tobacco vendors about state tobacco sales laws, and rewarding clerks who do not make illegal sales.
The program is a collaborative effort between the Health Department and the Wauwatosa Police Department. The Health Department provides funding, education, public outreach, and media activity. The Police Department conducts investigations at Wauwatosa tobacco vendors and issue citations to clerks who sell tobacco to minors.
Information about statewide tobacco compliance checks can be found Wisconsin WINS.
