Engine 53 was built in 2010 by the Pierce Manufacturing Company in Appleton, Wisconsin. It comes equipped with a 1250 GPM pump, 650 gallon water tank and foam attack capability. It carries 1000 feet of large diameter hose (for hydrant supply), 1250 feet of 2 1/2 inch hose (for attacking large fires), and two preconnected 1 3/4 inch hose lines for quick attacks at smaller fires. Engine 53 also contains the normal assortment of axes, tools, and fans. A complete set of vehicle extrication and stabilization equipment is also carried on this engine.
