Facebook made some changes: here's how it affects us

For all of you who follow the City of Wauwatosa on Facebook, we want to let you know of about some changes that Facebook made to the way that content shows up in your newsfeed.

The changes made by Facebook are meant to limit the amount of news you get from the pages you like or follow in favor of updates from your family and friends. This is generally good news for those who feel overwhelmed by the information on their feed, but it also means you may see less of our posts.

We don’t want you to miss out on the timely and important information we post on Facebook, so here’s a quick way you can keep posts from the City prominent on your feed.

When you look at our page, in the “Following” section, we’ll likely be set to show up in your newsfeed in the “Default” setting. Go ahead and click on the “See First” option pictured below to never miss one of our posts:

While you’re at it, if you don’t already follow us on Twitter, you should! You can find us at @WauwatosaWI.

We use social media to start a conversation and inform you of important things happening in your community, and your engagement really matters to us. The more of you who follow us, the quicker we can get the word out. You can follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube.

We appreciate your support as always!
